This unique iconostasis icon is hand-painted by the master iconographers at the icon-painting studio of St Elisabeth Convent, using traditional techniques passed down through generations.
Iconostasis is a very important theological and visual synthesis of Orthodox Christians' faith and spirituality. It is a wall of Icons inside an Orthodox church that separates the sanctuary and the nave.
The icon depicts an Orthodox church iconostasis, arranged according to canonical order, centered on Christ, the Theotokos, the Holy Trinity and the saints of Orthodox Christian church. Just as you can see it inside an Orthodox church, it has the Royal Doors at the bottom with two side deacon's doors. The wings of the Royal Doors bear the image of the Annunciation of Theotokos, placed above the portraits of the four evangelists. The second tier features the cycle of the great feast days. At its center is the icon of the Transfiguration of Christ.
Bringing this image into the home allows the faithful to recreate a sense of that same sacred space, making it a powerful centerpiece for personal or family prayer, a home icon corner, or a chapel setting.
