Our wooden carved crosses are made of various kinds of wood in the joiner’s shop of St Elisabeth Convent. The crosses are primarily carved from birch wood but they can also be made of other kinds of wood.

The workshop makes carved wall crucifixes and carved Holy Table crosses. The crosses can be additionally adorned with incrustation using semi-precious gemstones.

Moreover, this section contains carved wooden pectoral crosses and panagias. They are lighter than those made of metal and easy to take care of. There is a tradition to wear a wooden pectoral cross during the Great Lent. A cross like that doesn’t clink and is more convenient while making prostrations.

If the item you choose isn’t in stock, it will take ca. 1 month to make a hand carved wooden cross.

The prices quoted in our Catalog may vary slightly depending on your location and delivery method. We will contact you as soon as you place your order and discuss the final cost of your order.
