What's inside a Seasoned Priest's Briefcase?
20Jul
Today's issue is a short video reminiscent of the popular unpacking genre. It may also remind some of our readers of the popular childhood question: "What's in Daddy's desk drawers?"
In search of relevant information for our readers, we decided to film the contents of a briefcase used by one of our clergymen for occasional services, such as Communion or Anointing of the sick, consecration of the home, funerals and other rites performed at home or otherwise outside the church. We hope this information will be of interest at least to young or future clerics.
Sooner or later all priests will have their own kit, based on personal experience of such services. However, building expertise takes time, while it is useful for beginners in any profession to discover a few tips from an experienced colleague.
We present to you Father Andrey Malakhovsky. He is one of the oldest and most experienced priests, serving at our Convent since its early days. He is also an active leader of hiking and water tours. As a result, the arsenal in his "go-bag" may lack glamour and elegance (much of it was self-made) but is reliable and well-tried. Serving occasional rites almost daily and often unexpectedly, Father Andrei hardly ever parts with his suitcase.
May the Lord strengthen him, while we take this opportunity to peek inside his sacramental kit. Please feel free to ask questions – this way our communication will be more productive.
May the Lord's blessing be with you!
