A paramand is a part of the monastic vestment, reminiscent of the cross that a monk who wants to follow Christ should take upon himself.
The paramand is a rectangular sheet with an embroidered Cross and symbols of the Passion of Christ. There is an inscription on the edges in Church Slavonic, "I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus."(Galatians 6:17).
Paramand size: 15×15 cm.
One of the four silk ribbons is not sewn on for your convenience: it is done so as to fasten the paramand cross on the paramand.
Additionally, we are pleased to offer you a simple or carved paramand cross, made in the convent workshop.
