This painted by hand icon of Saint Helen the Empress, Equal-to-the-Apostles, mother of Saint Emperor Constantine the Great, Equal-to-the-Apostles, is made in the icon-painting studio of St Elisabeth Convent.

They organized and began the search of the Life-Creating Cross, which through the Will of God was dug in 4th century. Sst Helen and Constantine made important contribution to the Orthodox Christian Church, and built 4 Churches one of which is the Church in honor of Christ’s Resurrection over His tomb in Jerusalema.

Feast day: March 6, May 21.

This icon is painted using the following materials:

Lime, pine, or alder board
Gesso
Colored wax
Gold leaf
Linseed oil
Hide glue
Varnishes (mordant, kauri gum, acryl-styrolic)

Decorations

This icon has a hand-carved rectangular central panel. Decorated with gold-plating of the background, the halo and other elements.

It can be additionally adorned with wrought silver, a metal or a textile oklad, precious and semiprecious gemstones. We recommend putting this icon into an opening or a non-opening icon case.

The final price of St. Helen icon and the time it will take to paint it depend on its size and the complexity of its decoration. Once this icon is painted, it will be consecrated in St. Elisabeth Convent.
