The icon of the Mother of God of Kazan is one of the most highly venerated icons in the Russian Orthodox Church, which appeared in Kazan in 1579. Feast days: July 8(21), October 22 (November 4).
The materials it is made of include gessoed board, acrylic paints, gold leaf. The oklad consists of decorative fabric (brocade), semiprecious stones and minerals (greenstone, zirconium, cat's eye), natural pearls, Majorca pearls, Czech beads, Swarovski strasses, soft cannetille, and spangles.
