005-XC Christ the Pantocrator
The red background of this icon symbolizes the joy of Easter and the eternal bliss. This icon shows Jesus Christ as the King and the Savior of the whole world. He blesses the faithful with his right hand and holds an open Gospel book with an inscription that reads, "Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross" (Matthew 16:24), in his left hand. The image of Christ as the Pantocrator (the King of All) has been central to the iconography of Christ since the 4th century. Traditionally, it was this image that used to be painted on the dome of an Orthodox church. This icon of Christ the Pantocrator is made in St Elisabeth Convent. High-quality printed image is reliably attached to a wooden board and coated with lacquer. This icon is available in several sizes.
