I eventually began attending a Confessional Lutheran church, and after a time of considering Roman Catholicism, discovered the True Faith. I was received into the Orthodox Church on 3 December 2017.

Liturgical worship is based on the eternal and heavenly worship as found in the Bible, namely books such as Isaiah, Hebrews and Revelation. This is why it lasts. It is not trendy, but timeless.

Well said. I live in an area predominated with born-again churches. They rarely feature a Cross anywhere. Some are as large as a box-store. Some are small. But they all advertise in ways to stimulate the parishioners that ‘this is the exciting and most cutting edge place to be!’ Yet they feel to me as transient as the pre-fab building materials they use to construct them.

They are all usually in nicer suburbs and well to do areas newly developed. Our church, Holy Trinity, stands alone in a bad neighborhood. On a bad side of town, surrounded by blight. Yet. The golden onion domes still shine…Glory to God.
