However, I would like to ask why they are worn in Church by priests when the Scriptures say that a man praying or prophesying with is head covered dishonoureth his head (1 Cor. 11:4). I am not disputing, just asking. I looked for an explanation in AB Averky’s commentary on the Epistles, but he passes over this verse, while he does address the woman’s head covering. Orthodoxy always has good reasons for everything. I just haven’t found an answer to this yet. I understand the symbolism of the hats, but not why they are worn during the Liturgy. Thank you if you can help me with this.

The dress of Orthodox clergy is Byzantine just as the dress of Catholic clergy is of Roman origin. Both Catholics and Orthodox are faithful servants of God. The only one who profits from Christians slandering each other is the devil. In my fathers house there are many mansions. All Christians must love and respect each other.
