When I was small (late ’60s) my mother was discouraged from church. Fortunately at that time, a priest came to our parish with his own young family. I am very proud of my father who became a strong advocate for children in church. I feel I was born at the time of the Orthodox Church bursting forth with renewed life; shaking off the dust of tradition for the sake of tradition. The Orthodox Church is alive. To me it was the end of the “cold war” and the return of Christ’s brilliant love for us. Sine then that parish has become an American Orthodox Church. We celebrate the many nations’ traditions, customs and languages. God bless you and all children forever and always. Peace be with you.
