No other man came to our church in a wheelchair. I wasn’t aware of much of the first part of the story, including the part about St. Xenia. I just saw Victor at church. He often gave kids rides on his lap as he spun around and raced down the sidewalk at church in his wheelchair. He came and went a couple of times and we were taught not to ask questions, so I don’t know why. Eventually our church split, and I only saw Victor once after that, on the street in Santa Cruz, making his way in his wheelchair. I do not know what happened to him and have sometimes wondered about him and prayed for him.
