I listen to the arguments in favor of rituals and I think it’s kind of misleading to call the Lord’s supper a ritual in the same sense as the many rituals that I’ve witnessed on videos showing just a part of an Orthodox service. I’ve decided that whether we are Protestant, Orthodox or Roman Catholic believers, we all have been conditioned in a
“devotional “ life and less of a
“spiritual “ life. We need to seek the Mind of Christ to help us reverse that. Jesus said God is Spirit and is to be worshipped in spirit and in truth. The scripture also says we have the mind of Christ. As much as any group may justify our man made activities and rituals, we must
honestly ask ourselves if all the
fancy lights seen in the modern
Protestant services or all the kissing of icons/saints and hands in the more traditional groups are truly what our Lord Jesus meant. We all need a spiritual awakening. May we seek help and guidance from The Holy Spirit. Amen
